This month, Apple has launched the iPhone 16e smartphone with the Apple Intelligence function. The phone targets entry-level users or first-time users who want to experience a new iPhone. It is now on pre-orders, and soon we will receive users’ feedback about it. Meanwhile, the new report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) suggests Apple is considering launching iPhone 17e next year to complete the family, and it could announce this every year.
If you remember, Tim Cook called iPhone 16e a member of the regular iPhone 16 series. It was the first clue that the iPhone SE series will be discontinued, and the company may want to continue with the more promising iPhone ‘e’ lineup. Further, a Chinese leaker, Fixed Focus Digital, claims he has found a new project codename in Apple’s product list that leads to the next year’s iPhone 17e. He was the same leaker who first mentioned the name iPhone 16e instead of iPhone SE 4, so he has a point.

According to the report, the iPhone 17e would be launched in February 2026 to complete a one-year cycle. Furthermore, if everything goes well, then Apple might consider launching it every year. In September this year, Apple will announce the iPhone 17 series with a new chip & iOS version. It may also include the rumored iPhone 17 Air, which could replace the iPhone 17 Plus. There is a chance iPhone 17e will borrow many features from these regular models.
